NAPLES – Giro, Davide Ballerini wins in Naples. Davide Ballerini edges out Belgian Jasper Stuyven at the finish line in Naples, Italy's first victory of the 109th Giro. The two had a few meters of advantage after a crash split the peloton on the final corner. Australian Plowright leads the rest; Luca Mozzato is 7th, Filippo Magli 8th, and Enrico Zanoncello 9th. Portuguese Eulalio retains the pink jersey. The stage starts from Paestum, with a flat 142km. The stage is fueled by the breakaway of Luca Vergallito and Belgian Planckaer, joined by Marcellusi, Bais, and Tarozzi. The four Italians remain, caught with 35km to go.
