Torino-Juve derby: away matches suspended for ten days

Gli scontri degli Ultras a Torino

(PRIMASPORT) TURIN, JUNE 10, 2026 – Ten days without away matches for Turin and Juventus fans. This is the measure adopted by the Ministry of the Interior following the serious disturbances that occurred during the Turin derby played on May 24.

The measure will remain in effect until November 3, 2026, and includes the closure of away stands in stadiums where Torino and Juventus will be playing away matches.

Tickets will be suspended for residents of the affected areas.

The measure also prohibits the sale of coupons to residents of the affected regions.

As for Torino, the ban will apply to residents of Piedmont. For Juventus, however, the restriction will be extended to residents of Piedmont and Lombardy.

Juventus fans will not be able to follow the team on away matches against Frosinone, Sassuolo, Cagliari, and Genoa. Torino fans will be prohibited from traveling to Sassuolo, Florence, Bologna, Parma, and Frosinone.

The operational implementation of the restrictions will be delegated from time to time to the prefects of the provinces hosting the competitions.

The clashes before the derby

The Ministry of the Interior's decision is based on the incidents of violence recorded in the hours leading up to the derby on May 24.

According to the reconstruction, groups of Juventus fans came into contact with the police deployed to prevent contact with the Granata fans.

During the tensions, a Juventus supporter, Marco Basoccu, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital with critical condition.

The match started about an hour late and with the stands practically deserted following protests by the two organised fan groups.

Measures already adopted last season

Torino fans had already been subject to previous restrictions during the season just ended following the riots that occurred during the match against Verona on April 11.

In that case, trips to Cremona and Udine had been banned.

It's not yet clear whether the new measure will be extended to summer friendlies scheduled during pre-season training. (PRIMASPORT)
