Ski World Cup: Giovanni Franzoni crowned King of Kitzbuehel in the downhill race

(PRIMASPORT) AUSTRIA – Giovanni Franzoni wins the downhill on the Streif in Kitzbühel. The Brescia native secures the prestigious victory by 7 hundredths of a second over World Cup leader (and clear favorite) Marco Odermatt. And Italy's great day is confirmed by Florian Schieder's fourth-place finish, Dominik Paris's seventh-place finish, and Mattia Casse's eleventh-place finish.
This is the Brescia native's second World Cup victory, coming eight days after the super-G in Wengem (and the subsequent podium in the Swiss downhill). It's a great start to the upcoming Olympics. (PRIMASPORT)
