BRESCIA – Brescia's city center has undergone a transformation, placing sport at the center of city life. For a few days, Piazza della Vittoria was transformed into a large space dedicated to movement, socializing, and the opportunity to try out different sports thanks to “Victory in Motion”, an initiative that will continue until Tuesday, September 1st. The goal is to bring sports activities outside of traditional facilities and directly into the heart of the city, providing people of all ages with a place where they can experience a variety of sports.
For the occasion, the square has been organized with several sports areas, designed to allow for multiple activities to take place simultaneously. The program offers a wide variety of disciplines, from team sports to martial arts, fencing, athletics, dance, and Paralympic activities. This program is also made possible by the participation of local associations. It's not just about watching demonstrations. A key aspect of the initiative is direct public involvement, with individual activities, courses, and tournaments that allow participants to test themselves and discover new sports.
To underline the spirit of the initiative is Alessandro Cantoni, Councillor for Sport, Housing and Social Housing of the Municipality of Brescia: “Lots of sports, lots of activities, all free, no reservations required – explained Cantoni –. There will also be the opportunity to see many demonstrations of disciplines to learn and above all to try out"”. An initiative aimed at a wide audience and which also features Brescia's sports organizations.“It is suitable for everyone, children, teenagers, adults, all families. – added the Councilor – And above all, there are our city's sports associations. Those associations that every day help thousands of people, young people, grow through sport."”.
“Vittoria in Movimento” aims to see sport as tool for sociality, well-being and inclusion. Brescia's sports clubs and associations have contributed to the program, offering their skills and experience to the public. Alongside sports, there's also entertainment, with music and dance completing the program. The offerings span different genres and styles, from jazz and swing to Latin dance, ballet, and hip hop.
