BOLOGNA The 2027 Termal Bologna Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, March 7, features a special edition that blends sport and music through "The Running Symphony." The project celebrates the reopening of Bologna's historic Teatro Comunale, restored and ready to welcome audiences again on February 14, 2027, just days before the running race.
This initiative establishes a connection between running and music, aiming to represent the steps, rhythms, and emotions of thousands of participants as a collective symphony. Each runner, with their own pace and story, will contribute to creating a unique work of art that will pass through the city streets, engaging athletes, spectators, and volunteers.
The marathon is conceived as a moment of harmony between movement and culture, enhancing Bologna's identity as a UNESCO Creative City of Music. The collaboration with the Teatro Comunale will bring music directly into the race experience, fostering a dialogue between sport, art, and the local community.
Registration is now open with discounted rates until October 20, 2026: €65 for the 42km full marathon, €45 for the 30km Portici marathon, and €35 for the 21km Run Tune Up marathon. Special rates are also available for affiliated sports groups with at least ten participants. The maximum number of participants is 3,600 for the marathon, 1,600 for the 30km marathon, and 4,400 for the half marathon.
