BOLOGNA Bologna are in dire straits for Sunday's Serie A away match against Napoli, with Artem Dovbyk and Nadir Zortea doubtful due to injury. The Ukrainian striker, who scored his first goal for Bologna in the last match against Sassuolo, has a hamstring strain. Right defender Zortea has a hip problem.
His condition doesn't appear to be serious, but given Dovbyk's recent physical difficulties—he underwent tendon surgery last season and is currently recovering—coach Thiago Motta may decide to keep him for the home game against Torino, scheduled after the Napoli game. The same assessment is also being made regarding Zortea.
Furthermore, manager Thiago Motta, who is suspended for two matches following his red card against Sassuolo, will not be on the bench for the match against Napoli. Bologna has filed an appeal, which will be examined mid-next week ahead of the home match against Torino, when it will be known whether the manager will be eligible for a reduction in his suspension.
