(PRIMASPORT) Angelo Binaghi, president of the Italian Tennis Federation, commented on Jannik Sinner's withdrawal, emphasizing that it was expected, while remaining confident he will recover in upcoming tournaments. "Tennis is now played until the age of 40, so if Sinner is in good health, he can give us another 10 years of great results," Binaghi said on the sidelines of the 12th edition of the Giuseppe Colalucci Award at the Circolo Antico Tiro a Volo.
Binaghi also highlighted the possibility of planning Sinner's return to the top of world tennis without compromising his physical health. He then noted how coincidental the injury absence of the two best players in the world was, noting that Italian tennis can still boast five Masters 1000 titles won this year.
Finally, he emphasized the importance of finding solutions to maintain the medium- to long-term physical condition of his athletes, especially considering the physical problems encountered by the four best Italian men's and women's players during the season. (PRIMASPORT)
