Atalanta returns to Serie A after their Europa League trip to Amsterdam, where Sarri made only two changes to his starting lineup, with Rowe on the left flank and Krstovic as the central striker. Frosinone played their expected lineup with Raimondo as the attacking midfielder. Thirty seconds into the game, Frosinone took the lead through Schmid, following a glaring Atalanta error with a back pass from Ederson, who ended up providing an assist for the Austrian. Frosinone continued to attack. Atalanta attempted to respond, and in the 14th minute, Krstovic equalized, finishing off a De Ketelaere pass with a precise, close-range finish.
