BAKU<\/strong> \u2013 Another important medal for Italian judo at the 2026 World Championships<\/strong> in Azerbaijan. Gennaro Pirelli<\/strong> conquers the bronze in the -100 kg category<\/strong>, climbing onto the world championship podium for the first time in his career. The 26-year-old Neapolitan Golden Flames<\/strong>, who arrived in Baku as the world's top-ranked player, confirmed his international standing after a successful season, including the European title and victories at the Grand Slams in Ulaanbaatar and Budapest, and the Lima Grand Prix. After losing in the semifinals, the Italian rebounded in the third-place match, adding another prestigious result to his list of achievements.<\/p>\n

Pirelli's journey to the podium began with victories over the Swiss Daniel Eich<\/strong>, on Spanish Nikoloz Sherazadishvili<\/strong>, world champion in 2021, and on the Ukrainian Anton Savytskiy<\/strong>.
