Mauro Schmid (Jayco AlUla) and Tom Pidcock (Pinarello Q36.5) were the protagonists up and down the iconic Pallon d&#039;Alsace. The British climber conquered the climb and built a huge lead over the peloton. But the formidable Swiss attacked on the descent and narrowly edged out Harold Tejada (XDS Astana) at the finish, with Pidcock completing the day&#039;s podium. While the peloton crossed the finish line 7:32 behind, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates XRG) retained the leader&#039;s jersey ahead of a challenging weekend.
