LONDON, 1 JULY 2026 \u2013 <\/b>Jannik Sinner continues his run at Wimbledon 2026. The world number one defeated Portugal's Nuno Borges in three sets, 7-6(4), 7-6(2), 6-4, to secure a spot in the third round after two hours and 31 minutes of play. The Italian had to fight especially hard in the first two sets, both resolved in tie-breaks, before finally sealing the victory in the third set.<\/p>\n
Two tie-breaks to direct the match<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n The first set remained perfectly balanced until 6-6. Sinner had three break points in the opening game, but Borges managed to save them. The set was decided in a tie-break, where the South Tyrolean took control, winning 7 points to 4.<\/p>\n The second set was more complicated. The Portuguese managed to break the Italian's serve, taking a break lead and, at 5-4, even had a set point. Sinner, however, canceled the opportunity, recovered from a break deficit, and once again pushed the set to a tie-break, dominating it 7-2.<\/p>\n Closing in the third set<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n In the third set, Sinner broke early, only to be immediately countered by Borges.
