Milan Basketball celebrated its treble with Olimpia, who secured the Italian title for the thirty-second time in their history by defeating Reyer Venezia 86-72 in Game 4 of the championship final. This was the first title for coach Giuseppe Poeta, who had previously served as assistant to Ettore Messina, who resigned during the season. After winning the Italian Super Cup in September 2025 and the Italian Cup in February 2026, the league title arrived. Having finished third in the Regular Season, won by Virtus Bologna, who, as defending Italian champions, were defeated by Venezia in the playoff semifinals, Olimpia Milano prevailed 3-0 in the quarterfinals against Reggiana and defeated Germani Brescia 3-1 in the semifinals. After winning the first two final matches at the Assago Forum (100-80 and 92-79, respectively), they lost Game 43 in Venice, 109-97, before imposing themselves authoritatively in the fourth match. For the forty-year-old coach Poeta, who as assistant coach of Olimpia had already won two championships, this was his first major success a year after leading Germani Brescia to the championship final (which they lost to Virtus Bologna).<\/p>\n
Olimpia Milano, captained by twenty-four-year-old Giampaolo Ricci, who has won five championships, features twenty-eight-year-old American guard Armoni Brooks, who played in the NBA and was the best player of the season overall, and twenty-five-year-old Argentine Leandro Bolmaro, a guard who can also be used as a point guard, the prolific Marko Guduric, rebounding champion Nebo, co-captain Shields, Ellis and LeDay.<\/p>\n
