TRENTO - Laura Pirovano once again excelled in Val di Fassa. The Trentino native repeated her success in her second downhill run and returned to the top step of the podium after 24 hours. The podium, however, was closely contested: the Italian, Cornelia Huetter, and Corinne Suter were all within 5 hundredths of a second. Fourth place, Breezy Johnson, was 64 hundredths behind. Nicol Delago finished ninth (over 1" off the lead), with Sofia Goggia eleventh. Laura Pirovano's second World Cup victory is also her second podium: before this weekend, she had numerous placings, but no highlights.
