The European University Games, scheduled to run until August 1st, have opened in Salerno. This biennial multi-sport event is being hosted for the first time by Italy, which has taken over the baton from Hungary. On the evening of Saturday, July 18th, the opening ceremony of EUG Salerno 2026 took place in Piazza della Libertà, drawing over 3,000 participants.
